Charleston Heights Arts Center Summer 2018 Class Registration (all ages)

 

Registration through July 5 for a five-week session of classes July 5-Aug. 11.

Summer Dance Camp (ages 12-18)

 

July 9-20, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

 

Cost: Varies depending on option selected.

Participants of this camp will experience quality, professional instruction in traditional, lyrical and contemporary styles of ballet, jazz and hip-hop as well as dance, technique, composition, choreography and performance. Participants will experience valuable enrichment as they progress at their own individual pace, from beginning to advanced. Each day will include four intense hours of dance training. Space is limited due to small class size.  Each participant will receive personal attention and beneficial feedback. Dancers will have an opportunity to showcase their learned skills and artistry in a closing performance.  Available camp registration options include:

 

  • 5-day option that meets Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. – $250
  • 3-day option that meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – $150
  • 2-day option that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays – $120

 

Dance camp students must commit to attend all camp classes for the participation option selected and be available for the final performance Friday, July 20, at 6 p.m.  Daily dress code required.  Register in person or call 702-229-ARTS (2787).

 

 

 

 

 

Elite Theater Camp (ages 6-14)

Nationally acclaimed and award-winning Rainbow Company Youth Theatre of the City of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs will host a one-week theatre camp teaching theater arts skill.  Campers will present a production at the conclusion of the camp. Clay Arts Vegas – Tile Mural Workshop (ages 10-18)

 

July 19-27, 1-3 p.m., weekdays only (excluding Saturday-Sunday)

 

Cost: $5 materials fee.

During this seven-day workshop, students will participate in the steps of creating and making a permanent tile mural for the Charleston Heights Arts Center. Windows on First: “Vibrance”

A minimalist nod to the illuminated aesthetics of Las Vegas, Vibrance is a striking engagement with the simplicity of everyday lighting elements re-envisioned in a bold composition. A Las Vegas native and lifelong resident, Henry is best known for his 20+ year career in award winning sign design, creating some of Las Vegas’ most iconic new technology and LED displays as well as his fine artworks which combine sophisticated computer systems and compelling light sources together in an ever-evolving sensory experience.
