The Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino Announces New Live Music/Entertainment Initiative With Addition of Veteran Music Booker Judy Alberti

Guitar Army Set to Take Freedom Beat Stage on Sept. 25
Three Music Venues + Outdoor Concert Events put the Spotlight on Downtown Entertainment

LAS VEGAS, NV (Sept. 22, 2016) -- The sights and sounds of classic Downtown Las Vegas are legendary, but just a short block away at the Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino the music stages are set and the band contracts are being signed as the multi-faceted 629 room resort turns its attention to becoming the premier home to live music and entertainment in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas. With three music venues (Freedom Beat, Citrus Rooftop Pool Deck and the newly minted casino-centric Red Velvet Stage), the property is positioned to showcase live music entertainment and ensure that a diverse and eclectic roster of local and national artists have a new home to perform at in intimate and unique settings.
In conjunction with the new focus on live music, Downtown Grand has announced Judy Alberti, Las Vegas’ concert-booking guru and owner of Alberti Entertainment LLC, will add the Downtown Grand to her impressive client list and she will be responsible for activating all of the performance spaces at the hotel/casino property (plus special event large-scale concerts on 3rd Street) on a year-round basis. Alberti, with 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, has served most notably in the capacity of Vice President of Entertainment for Station Casinos in Las Vegas.  In her new consulting role with the property, Alberti has already put the ink on the contract with her first booking, super group Guitar Army; set to jam on the Freedom Beat stage on Sunday, Sept. 25th at 10:00 pm.
Guitar Army is comprised of three world-class musicians: Robben Ford, Lee Roy Parnell, and Joe Robinson. The triple-threat artists — guitarists, singers and songwriters — will each perform individual 20-minute sets (Robinson as a soloist, Parnell as a duo with keys, and Ford as a trio with bass and drums), before joining forces together as one 6-piece band for a 40-minute set to close out the show in super group fashion. These masters of guitar have created an especially memorable evening of music that will feature captivating songs, soulful singing, and of course, all kinds of incredible guitar playing.

The music performances are being coordinated to bring a non-stop rock and rhythmic pulse to the casino floor.  Kicking off at 6:00 pm at Freedom Beat nightly, solo artists to acoustic bands will create the musical landscape for diners that have come to imbibe on Chef Scott Commings unique take on classic Americana cuisine. On Friday and Saturday nights, the Red Velvet Stage, located on the casino floor, will kick into gear from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm with a mix of rock, classic rock and progressive country before the spotlight returns to Freedom Beat for a louder, bigger party where the volume will rise and the bands (a mix of great American rock n’ roll, blues and more) will rock a bit harder.

Taking it to a higher level (literally to the rooftop), the stage at Citrus will feature a combination of music ranging from special event headliner bands to amazing tribute artists.  Equally as exciting will be special event concert performances taking place on a large outdoor stage on 3rd Street in front of the hotel/casino – providing for Downtown’s best open space concert area.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have someone with Judy’s knowledge, experience and contacts in the industry join our team to help us on our quest to showcase amazing talent and provide our guests, and all visitors to Downtown Las Vegas with a truly unique triple-threat of music,” explains general manager Kevin Glass. “Judy has a sixth sense when it comes to the entertainment scene in Las Vegas and her relationships and contacts in the music industry are invaluable.  Our goal is to become the home-base for great live music entertainment in Las Vegas and with Judy at our side, I have no doubt we will achieve success.”

“I’m so excited to be joining the team at the Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino on this musical journey,” notes Alberti.  “Downtown is so exciting and there is already great music taking place on the streets, so we want to add to the mix by activating these great spaces inside the hotel.  Each of the stages presents an opportunity to highlight some of the great local artists we now have in Las Vegas, as well as play host to top touring bands and special exclusive performances.  We can’t wait to get the instruments in the amps and start making great music.”
