FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 31, 2001, Las Vegas, NV----- Andrew Alexander and Len Stuart, co-owners of The Second City, are proud to announce the opening of The Second City at The Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel on Tuesday March 20, 2001 at 7pm. Previews for the new show will begin on Tuesday March 6, 2001 at 7pm.

The Second City, in association with Jam Theatricals, will present two shows nightly Tuesday through Sunday at 7pm and 9:30pm in Bugsy's Celebrity Theatre located in The Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel at 3555 Las Vegas Blvd., South.

Established in 1959, The Second City has established itself as the premier sketch and improvisational comedy theatre in North America. It's alumni list reads like a who's who
of comedy as it includes: Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, Fred Willard, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Martin Short, John Candy, Betty Thomas, Bill Murray, George Wendt, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Ryan Stiles, Tina Fey, and more.

Leading The Second City's debut ensemble at The Flamingo will be one of the nation's most respected comedy directors, Mick Napier. An award-winning stage director, Mr. Napier is co-founder of Chicago's Annoyance Theatre and has directed for Comedy Central's "Exit 57." He will work with 9 Second City performers that will rotate through the 5 person cast. The fast-paced show will features hilarious sketches and songs along with the lightening quick improvisation that has become Second City's hallmark.

Additionally, The Second City will open a branch of its Training Center in Las Vegas, offering both beginning and advanced classes in improvisation.
