Las Vegas - The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas welcome the “2009 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of the Americas” on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 8 p.m. The pageant will initially air on Phoenix Satellite Television throughout North America and South America then extended to Phoenix TV’s worldwide audience. Showcasing their beauty, compassion, vigor, fortitude, and intelligence, the 16 contestants will vie for the ‘Americas’ title to go on and compete in October 2009 for the worldwide competition of the “2009 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant.”
The 2009 pageant marks a special year for the Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of the Americas as the competition reflects on love. The Venetian, which embraces the charm, excitement, passion and romance of Italy, complimented with its luxurious sister property, The Palazzo, provides the perfect setting for the pageant to take place. Prior to the pageant, the contestants will compete in challenges throughout both properties to win additional awards leading to the highly anticipated crowning of the next Miss Chinese Cosmos of the Americas. During the competition, the contestants will compete to win several awards, including, the Miss Chinese Cultural Elegance Award, Miss Congeniality Award, Miss Web Popularity Award, Miss Physique Award, and a special Miss Venetian Award.

World famous designer and artistic director, Flora ZETA (Zhang Elizabeth Tian Ai) will be the executive director of this year’s Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant of the Americas. ZETA has been the Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant Artistic Director/Choreographer for many years and has produced, directed, and hosted over 50 television production events and renowned model competitions. ZETA is the founder of many high-end fashion companies and is the president and creative director of her own prominent style of design, which has been collected by renowned and prestigious museums such as the Art of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Henie-Onstad Kunstsenter in Norway, the Hong Kong Museum and the China Museum.

Celebrated record producer K.C. Porter and Chinese singer Lin Cheng will perform their hit song, “Greater Than Gold.” Scheduled to appear are stars such as actor Russell Wong of “ROMEO MUST DIE” and “The MUMMY 3: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” and principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet, Yuan Yuan Tan.
