Literary And Educations Organizations Invited To Apply To Be Vendors
LAS VEGAS – June 26, 2018 – Luis Rodriguez, Sara Shepard and Colson Whitehead will headline the 2018 Las Vegas Book Festival (LVBF) Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The annual festival is free and open to all ages.
Former Poet Laureate of Los Angeles, Rodriguez has 15 books in multiple genres, including the bestselling memoir, "Always Running, La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A." His latest books are "It Calls You Back: An Odyssey Through Love, Addiction, Revolutions, and Healing" and "Borrowed Bones."
Shepard is the author of the New York Times bestselling series “Pretty Little Liars” and bestselling book series “The Lying Game”; both have been turned into television shows. It recently was announced that Shepard’s “The Perfectionists” also will be adapted into a television series.
Award-winning author Whitehead has received a number of recognitions for his novels. His most recent novel, “The Underground Railroad” won the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and was a No. 1 New York Times Bestseller.
Literary and educational organizations are invited to participate in the festival as vendors. Registration for booth space will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested organizations can register here until Saturday, Sept. 1, or until booths are sold out. The cost is $150 with a 50-percent discount for nonprofit organizations; registration fee includes a festival tent, signage, a table and chairs.
