Nominations Are Open For Crystal Bookmark Awards
The Las Vegas Book Festival (LVBF) returns to downtown Las Vegas Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The annual festival is free and open to all ages.
As Nevada’s largest literary event, the LVBF is a celebration of the written, spoken and illustrated word. It will celebrate its 18th year with well-known authors, programming for readers of all ages, poetry, workshops, music, exhibits, panel discussions and more.
The public is invited to nominate individuals and organizations for the Crystal Bookmark Awards. The 2019 awards will recognize contributions made to encourage mastery of the written, spoken and/or illustrated word to unlock the potential of residents in the Las Vegas and Southern Nevada area. Nominees must have made a demonstrable contribution that has benefitted the advancement of literacy and/or the literary field. An online nomination form must be completed on behalf of the nominee by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. A panel of judges will select three finalists in each category and winners will be announced at the festival’s opening reception Friday, Oct. 18.
