Ward 6 Movie in the Park

Friday, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.

Free and open to the public.

Centennial Hills Park Amphitheater, 7171 N. Buffalo Drive at Deer Springs Way. 

Bring the family to a movie under the stars (movie to be determined). Lawn seating -- bring blankets or low chairs to be more comfortable.

 

Youth Floor Hockey League (ages 7-12)

Friday/Saturday, Sept. 7-Nov. 2.  

Fee: $85, includes jersey.  Advance registration required by Aug. 12.

Veterans Memorial Community Center, 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive, 702-229-1100.

Divisions will be 8u, 10u and 12u. Teams will receive two weeks of practice prior to the season and one practice each week during the season. Teams are guaranteed six to eight games during the season. Equipment can be checked out. Games may be held Friday evenings or Saturdays, indoors at Veterans Memorial Community Center. Hispanic Heritage Celebration Workshop (ages 5+)

Friday, Sept. 13, 6 to 9 p.m.

Participate in Hispanic Heritage-themed crafting workshops at this family event that kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month. There also will be a featured family movie. Bring a low-backed chair to be more comfortable. Concessions will be available for sale. 

 

Neighborhood College – Session 3

Thursdays, 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 19 – Oct. 17

Free and open to the public.

These are interactive and informative sessions to educate and engage residents with city programs and resources. Learn how to connect to your councilperson and about resources available for residents, business incentives, what is new, fun activities for kids and adults, grant opportunities, where your tax dollars go, how to build your neighborhood association, access neighborhood services, and more.
