The Gospel Choir Will Perform At Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza Sept. 6

The Kingdom Choir will kick off their first North American tour in the city of Las Vegas Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park, 720 Twin Lakes Drive. The British gospel choir catapulted to global acclaim when they captivated 2 billion viewers with their widely-publicized performance at The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry of Wales and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, at Windsor Castle in 2018 where they covered “Stand By Me.” Tickets are $25 plus taxes and fees; all ages are welcome.

The tour is in support of their debut album “Stand By Me,” a soulful collection featuring renditions of classics to more contemporary cuts from today’s hitmakers. They will perform 29 shows throughout the continent including the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Merriam Theatre in Philadelphia.

Formed of individual singers and performers and led by one of the United Kingdom’s most respected gospel tutors and choir conductors, the London-based group has been together for more than 20 years. The group’s talent and energy, matched by their raw Gospel spiritual style, has made them internationally in-demand for well over a decade. Known for their take on a mix of gospel classics and popular contemporary hits, they have performed for notable figures and alongside artists including Elton John.

This performance is outdoors with lawn seating; attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. For tickets and more information for this and other events, visit www.ArtsLasVegas.org or call 702-229-ARTS (2787).
