(LAS VEGAS - June 11th, 2008 ) It's almost that time again for one of Las Vegas' most popular traditions with barbeques, fireworks, and pops music for the whole family. The Las Vegas Philharmonic opens its tenth anniversary season with its annual Star Spangled Spectacular and promises to celebrate the Fourth of July with a big bang and special surprises throughout the evening. Under the direction of Music Director David Itkin with Associate Conductor Richard McGee, the program features a variety of tunes from a patriotic George M. Cohan medley (composer of "You're a Grand Old Flag") to Broadway favorites performed by Brent Barrett, tenor and former star of "Phantom - the Las Vegas Spectacular." The grand finale, starting with Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," will display a full fireworks show by legendary pyrotechnics company, Zambelli Internationale.
