(LAS VEGAS - June 11th, 2008 ) - The Las Vegas Philharmonic today announced the appointment of Elizabeth Herridge as Interim Executive Director.

"We are extremely pleased to have Elizabeth Herridge increase her involvement with The Las Vegas Philharmonic," said Dr. David Mulkey, President of the Board of Trustees. "She is uniquely qualified to play a leadership role in the management and direction of this institution. With her strong experience and background in fine arts management, Ms. Herridge possesses the skill set required to both sustain and improve the activities of The Las Vegas Philharmonic".

In this role, Ms. Herridge will be an integral part of the management team and will supervise all operations.

"I am thrilled to take on a leadership role at The Las Vegas Philharmonic and to increase my participation and support of the orchestra" said Ms. Herridge. "Las Vegas is a city of enormous opportunity and cultural vitality. I look forward to furthering the interests and development of the Philharmonic as an integral part of the Las Vegas community and the larger arts community."

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Herridge was the Managing Director of the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum at The Venetian. Herridge is an art historian specializing in Modernism and Color Theory. She has served as a researcher, archivist, and educator at a number of museums, including the Las Vegas Art Museum, the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey, and the Museum of Arts and Design (formerly the American Craft Museum) in New York. Additionally, she has been an adjunct faculty member in the Art Department, College of Fine Arts at UNLV. In addition to her museum leadership, Ms. Herridge spent over 17 years working for investment firms on Wall Street, most recently as a Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc.

Ms. Herridge received her undergraduate degree in French from Wellesley College, and earned a Master of Arts degree in Connoisseurship and the Art and Auction Market from Christie's Education in New York.

In addition to her work with The Las Vegas Philharmonic, Herridge was recently appointed to the City of Las Vegas Arts Commission.

On July 4, 1998, a decade ago, The Las Vegas Philharmonic launched its classical music presence - adding a unique cultural dimension to the city. Since then, a variety of venues and events have showcased The Las Vegas Philharmonic's versatility and virtuosity.
