Enjoy A Family Classic And Ghostly Operatic Tale



Based on the book by A. A. Milne, Rainbow Company Youth Theatre’s production of “Winnie-the-Pooh” will be a delight for all ages. The story follows Winnie-the-Pooh, a “bear of very little brain,” on his frantic adventures. Assisted by his friends Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit, Pooh is able to get out of trouble and back to his search for honey and condensed milk. Watch Milne’s wit and special understanding of young people come to life.  Showtimes are Sept. 28, 29, and Oct. 5, 6 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 30 and Oct. 6, 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5.50 plus tax and fees. Rainbow Company season ticket packages are also available and offer the greatest affordability and flexibility to enjoy the season.



Celebrate Halloween with The Flying Dutchman,” the ghostly operatic tale of a mysterious sailor, cursed to wander the seas for all eternity, whose only hope of salvation is to find a love that can stand the ultimate test. Presented by the city and Sin City Opera (SCO), the synoptic telling of the classic opera by Richard Wagner will be staged by SCO’s Artistic Director Skip K. Galla and feature the SCO orchestra and multi-media design by Andrew Kurcan Stephenson of Kurcan Studios. Performances will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Tickets start at $25. The program has been funded, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.



Local storytellers will recount tales of mistakes and lessons learned for an evening of stories connected to theme of “Wrong Turn.” Clark County Poet Laureate Vogue Robinso will moderate this StorySlam, a celebration of words and experiences theat shape and define who we are. Parental guidance is recommended as material may be unsuitable for children under 13. Tickets for the event can only be purchased at the door.  Admission is pay what you wish; $5 suggested.



Celebrate the inaugural Live and Local series performance on Saturday, Nov. 17. Join local bands for an evening of music. More information will be shared closer to the event.
