Military Employment Summit (adults)

Hosted by Ward 2 Councilman Steven G. Seroka and the city of Las Vegas in partnership with the Golden Knights Foundation and Hiring Our Heroes. This educational employment event offers free workshops and interview mentoring sessions taught by industry leaders. Visit with local and national employers in attendance who are looking to hire. Easter EGGstravaganza At the Pool! (ages 3-10)

Saturday, April 13, 9 a.m. for ages 3-6; 9:45 a.m. for ages 7-10.

Cost: $2 per child.

This fun event will be filled to the brim with an egg hunt, games, activities, music and swimming! Each child will go home with eggs collected, prizes included. Bring a plastic bucket or bag for gathering eggs. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.


Ward 4 Document Shredding Event/Medication Disposal

Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to noon.

Free and open to the public.

Desert Shores Clubhouse parking lot, 2500 Regatta Drive.

This event provides worry-free document destruction for Ward 4 residents, limited to five boxes or bundles per car. Also bring expired or unwanted medications for secure disposal. Volunteers will unload your car. Shredding services will be available until truck capacity is reached. Minker Sports Complex “Earth Day Community Clean Up”

Ward 6 Easter Celebration & Egg-stravaganza (all ages and abilities)

Bring the family to enjoy Easter Bunny, community vendors, food trucks, crafts, games, face painting, a DJ playing music and plenty of fun for all ages. Easter egg hunts will be in the baseball fields in separate areas for ages 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-13. Easter egg hunt area also will be provided for individuals with disabilities.


Adaptive Recreation Spring Fling Luau Dance (ages 16+)

Spring Break STEAM Camps (ages 5-11)

Monday-Friday, April 15-19, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost: $75 at East Las Vegas Community Center; $125 at Cimarron Rose Community Center; $150 at Veterans Memorial Community Center and Mirabelli Community Center.

Camp Malibu (ages 10-21 of all ability levels)

Monday-Friday, April 15-19.

Cost: $400 per person. Advance registration required by March 2.

Camp Malibu offers participants the opportunity to experience social, emotional and intellectual growth. It also enhances participants’ self-esteem and independence. Safekey No School Fun Day (grades K-5)

Summer Youth Basketball Leagues Registration (ages 5-12)

Registration open April 22-May 13 for league season June 8-Aug. 3.

Cost: $85, includes jersey.

Various city of Las Vegas community centers.

Teams receive two weeks of practice prior to season, and one practice per week during season (based on availability). Recreation league teams (ages 5-12) guaranteed seven games; no playoffs. Competitive league teams (ages 9-12) guaranteed seven season games, followed by playoffs July 22-Aug. 3. Volunteer coaches needed; coaches will receive NAYS training prior to coaching. Safe Summer Nights Celebration (all ages)

The city of Las Vegas invites residents to the first of six free Safe Summer Nights celebrations between April 25 and May 16. Community members are invited to enjoy free DJ music, family games, arts and crafts, and free refreshments while supplies last, along with a community health and resource fair. Rock Climb Red Rock with Jackson Hole Mountain Guides (teenagers of all abilities) Saturday, April 27, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost: $35 per person. Advance registration required by April 24.

The inclusive Stepping Stone program provides adventure recreation-based experiences for high functioning teenagers with disabilities and their peers.
