City Of Las Vegas May 2019 Senior Special Events

Las Vegas Residents Invited To Celebrations, Luncheons & Activities At City Centers

     The city of Las Vegas active adult and senior centers offer exercise, fitness, craft, arts, dance, music and computer classes; cards; games; discussion and social groups; luncheons; sports; and special events Monday through Friday to residents age 50 and better. Many of these activities contribute to wellness and a healthy lifestyle. A listing of classes and activities is published in the Beyond the Neon Leisure Guide, available online at www.lasvegasParksandRec.com and in the centers. All activities are subject to change. Most activities require $10 annual membership in city of Las Vegas Active Adult/Senior Citizen Programs, available at all senior and active adult centers. Active adults ages 50+ can subscribe here to receive a monthly email about upcoming events and activities, or text LV SENIORS to 468-311. Centers will be closed May 27 for holiday observance.

 

Fall Prevention Class (ages 50+)

Wednesdays, May 1 through June 5, 9 a.m.

Free and open to seniors ages 50 and better.

This is a six-week class. You will learn a six-step balance system to help avoid injuries and fears associated with falling. Registration is open until full; call 702-229-6601 for registration and information.

 

Princess Leia Pancake Breakfast (ages 50+)

Friday, May 3, 9:30 a.m.

Cost: $5. Advance registration required by May 1.

Mother’s Day “Jeans & Bling” Brunch (ages 50+)

Intergenerational Tea (ages 5+)

Seniors are encouraged to bring children or grandchildren to enjoy an afternoon tea party, and learn about the etiquette of tea. A senior with a city of Las Vegas senior programs membership must accompany each person under age 50. Seating is limited; no one may register more than three people. Bunco (ages 50+)
