Youth Basketball Summer Leagues (ages 5-14)

Registration open April 22-May 13 for league play June 8-Aug. 3.

Cost: $85, includes jersey.

Games will be scheduled at various city of Las Vegas community centers, primarily on Saturdays. Ages 5-12 play in recreation league; ages 9-14 may play in competitive league. Volunteer coaches needed. Coaches will receive NAYS training prior to coaching. Register online at

Ninth Annual Ward 4 Feature-A-Teacher Awards (all ages)

Thursday, May 9, 5:30 p.m.

Join Councilman Anthony as he celebrates and honors the best teachers from the elementary and middle schools in Ward 4. Students who wish to nominate a teacher are required to complete and submit a nomination form to their school’s main office. Ward 4 & YMCA YSPLASH/Opening Day at the Pool (all ages)

Summer Day Camps

Monday-Friday, May 28-Aug. 9 (no camp July 4).

Cost: varies by camp location and age group. Advance registration required.

The types of summer camps include Tot Camp (ages 3-5), Kids Camp (ages 5-11 and have completed kindergarten), Teen Adventure Camp (ages 12-14) and a Counselor-in-Training program (ages 15+). Mirabelli and Veterans Memorial will offer elite camps with week-long specialty themes. See the Mirabelli and Veterans Memorial elite camp lists. The popular Teen Adventure Camp, offered at all community centers, will feature bus trips to fascinating spots all over Southern Nevada. There will be specialized camp activities each week focusing on sports, science, art, dance and more. Call centers for information or go online.


Online registration at for summer activities is open now. Click on “Summer Camps” or “Aquatics.” Walk-in registration at the community centers below is available during regular hours. Registration will continue until camps are full. Day camp hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., except at Stupak Community Center (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Junior Lifeguard Camp (7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Pavilion Center Pool). Teen Adventure Camp days may vary by location. A weekly, non-refundable $10 transportation fee will be charged for each participant in Kids, Teens and Elite Camps.
