Sand Volleyball Adult Summer League II

Registration open through July 1 for Thursday games July 18-Sept. 5.

Cost: $150 per team.

Summer Day Camps

Monday-Friday, through Aug. 9 (no camp July 4).

Cost: varies by camp location and age group. Advance registration required.

The types of summer camps include Tot Camp (ages 3-5), Kids Camp (ages 5-11 and have completed kindergarten), Teen Adventure Camp (ages 12-14) and a Counselor-in-Training program (ages 15+). Mirabelli and Veterans Memorial offer elite camps with weeklong specialty themes. See the Mirabelli and Veterans Memorial elite camp lists. The popular Teen Adventure Camp, offered at all community centers, will feature bus trips to fascinating spots all over Southern Nevada. There will be specialized camp activities each week focusing on sports, science, art, dance and more. Call centers for information or go online.

 

Online registration at www.lasvegasparksandrec.com for summer activities is open now. Click on “Summer Camps” or “Aquatics.” Walk-in registration at the community centers below is available during regular hours. Registration will continue until camps are full. Day camp hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., except at Stupak Community Center (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Junior Lifeguard Camp (7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Pavilion Center Pool). Teen Adventure Camp days may vary by location. A weekly, non-refundable $10 transportation fee will be charged for each participant in Kids, Teens and Elite Camps.

Bring the family to enjoy DJ music, live performances, food, beverages and an amazing fireworks display. Free refreshments while supplies last. The first 500 people in the park will receive a free American flag. Bring blankets and low-back chairs to be more comfortable during the fireworks. Safekey and Ignite Registration for 2019-2020 School Year

Registration opens 7 a.m. July 8.

Cost: $20 registration fee per child, per account; plus $7 per morning session and/or $10 per afternoon session.

Learn how to connect to your councilperson and about resources available for residents, business incentives, what is new, fun activities for kids and adults, grant opportunities, where your tax dollars go, how to build your neighborhood association, access neighborhood services, and more. Classes will take place at Las Vegas City Hall, East Las Vegas Community Center, Stupak Community Center and Doolittle Community Center. Teton Trails Lacrosse Field Groundbreaking

Thursday, July 18, 10 a.m.

Free and open to the public.

Teton Trails Park, 7820 N. Bradley Road (at corner of Grand Teton Drive).

Join Councilwoman Michele Fiore, Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick and city staff to break ground for a third lacrosse field at Teton Trails Park. Youth Flag Football NFL Competitive League (ages 9-12)

Registration July 28-Aug. 12 for league play Sept. 7-Nov. 2

Cost: $125 per youth; includes NFL jersey.

Games will be played at various city fields, generally on Saturdays.

Teams receive two weeks of practice prior to season and one practice per week during the season, based on availability. Teams are guaranteed seven regular season games, with playoffs to be held afterward. Contracted officials provided. Volunteer coaches are needed. Coaches will receive NAYS training prior to coaching. Youth Soccer League (ages 3-10)

Registration July 28-Aug. 12 for Saturday league play that begins Sept. 7.

Cost: $45 for 4U; $55 for ages 6U, 8U, 10U; includes jersey.
