You Can Participate In The City Of Las Vegas Dia De Los Muertos Celebration Nov. 2

     The city of Las Vegas will host its annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration Saturday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza, located at 720 Twin Lakes Drive in Lorenzi Park. This is a free family event. There are opportunities for artisans, food truck vendors and ofrenda contest entries.

     Individual members of the public or community groups who would like to participate in the Nov. 2 Ofrenda Contest should contact Jennifer Rabanes at [email protected] or 702-229-4924 to have a contest application emailed to them.

     Artisans and vendors specializing in Dia de los Muertos creations and Mexican art and heritage are invited to apply to showcase and sell their works at the festival. The vendor participation fee is $50, due upon acceptance to the event. Vendor spaces include one table and two chairs. Artisans, artists, arts and craft vendors, makers, traditional vendors, cottage vendors and face painters with a majority of inventory related to the theme of the event are encouraged to apply. Prospective vendors should complete the online Vendor Application Form and follow the form instructions for submittal. Vendor applications must be received by Oct. 2, 2019.

     Residents are invited to dress in their best la catrina costumes to enjoy kids’ activities, entertainment, displays, refreshments and vendors at the Nov. 2 festival. Lawn seating; bring your blankets and low chairs to be more comfortable.
